In 2007, twelve Tech retirees met to organize a group to provide retirees a way of maintaining their ties to the Tech community.  Retirement is the beginning of a new path to travel, one that includes education, social events and an opportunity to serve.

Since then, Silver Jackets meetings have included speakers on a broad range of topics from current research at Tech to those of more general interest. The annual Christmas lunch provides another opportunity to socialize and catch up with old friends.
